Chock full o’Nuts Heavenly Original - Medium - Ground
Another CLP-tested everyday coffee outside the Clean 16, with the current brand page still leaning on steel-can packaging.
AvoidA reasonable second caution pick for the same basic reason: tested product, outside the Clean 16, weak purity transparency, can-packaging emphasis.
Why it ranks
This one is more defensible than the old repo’s speculative coffee “worst” pages because the product is clearly on CLP’s tested list and the current Chock full o’Nuts product page still explicitly promotes steel-can packaging. That does not prove this exact SKU was one of the three dirtiest coffees in the full study, but it does make it a solid caution candidate when contrasted with cleaner organic bagged coffees in the Clean 16.
Highlights
- Exact current product image verified from the brand product page
- Live product copy still emphasizes steel cans
Caveats
- Not in CLP Clean 16
- Can / canister packaging deserves caution on phthalates in CLP’s summary, but the Illy Clean 16 result shows it is not automatically disqualifying
- Little current public sourcing or purity detail beyond generic marketing copy
- Better daily choice: a bagged Clean 16 coffee with stronger transparency
Testing method
CLP — ICP-MS metals + GC-MS phthalates / pesticides + LC-MS glyphosate
